Light-curve graph for Exoplanet TrES-1 b

Observation of the transit of exoplanet TrES-1 b. TrES-1 is an extrasolar planet orbiting the star GSC 02652-01324 in the constellation Lyra, about 500 light-years from Earth.

Given its mass and radius, the planet is very likely a Jovian planet with a composition similar to Jupiter's. It has a surface temperature of about 1,060 K because of its great proximity to its star: it lies at only 4% of the Earth-Sun distance. It is therefore classified as a hot Jupiter.
